The All-Round Taper, or ART, is perfectly designed to handle nearly every freshwater fishing situation imaginable. From small dry flies to turning over nymph rigs, the ART has the power to turn over any fly without sacrificing delicacy. Built with an extended front taper for pinpoint deliveries, the ART features a muted color scheme with a camo tip for even the most wary of fish. Excels at single-hand Spey casts.
We took our revolutionary AST Plus slickness additive and put it into the brand-new Amplitude Smooth Series. These lines are smooth like traditional lines, but have increased durability and slickness due to the AST Plus, which is mixed directly into our coatings.
Each line is built with three colors to identify the separate parts of the line, and welded loops for quick and easy rigging.
SA Amplitude Smooth lines are simply the finest smooth fly lines in the world and are available in a number of freshwater- and saltwater-specific tapers.
SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS LINE IDENTIFICATION
Meet the Scientific Anglers Line Identification System. SA•ID is an innovative line-marking system allowing you to identify your lines at a glance. Wonder if a shooting head is 200 grain or a 300? Just look at the SA•ID. The SA•ID can be found on the first 1-2 feet of the tip section of your line.
ADVANCED SHOOTING TECHNOLOGY PLUS
A new formulation of our patented dry-slick technology provides continual line slickness over the lifetime of the line. Up to 50% slicker than the original AST and 200% more durable than the competition. Fly lines with AST Plus cast farther, float higher, and stay cleaner than any other lines ever built. Featuring microreplication technology, the SA Floating Texture is a radical modification of typically smooth-surfaced fly lines. Its microtextured surface traps air to provide superior shootability and flotation while eliminating line flash and vastly reducing friction. Lines sit higher in the water, offering less drag and water spray, as well as easier mending, roll casting, and pick-ups.
Exceptionally slick and strong, our Welded Loops produce smoother casts and easier turnover with a seamless fly-line-to-loop transition, making for softer landings and cleaner pickups. The sleek design also maintains buoyancy for improved fly-line flotation and enables quicker connections between fly line and leaders or fly line and backing.
Our Camo technology creates a stealthy blend of muted colors on fly lines, providing much-needed stealth for wary fish, low-water situations, and any time an additional bit of deception is necessary.
SHARK SKIN TECHNOLOGY
When introduced, Sharkskin created an entirely new category of product: textured fly lines. These lines, developed and manufactured at the Scientific Anglers facility in Midland, Michigan, represented one of the most interesting and groundbreaking evolutions in the history of fly line technology.
The benefits of the textured lines were numerous: increased surface area allowed the lines to sit higher in the water, offering less drag, easier mending, less water spray, and easier pick-ups; the micro-textured surface trapped air to provide increases in both shootability and flotation—all while decreasing friction; and the microreplicated pattern increased the durability of the lines, allowing them to last up to twice as long.
DESIGNED BY FLYFISH EUROPE
To suit the specific needs of European fly fishermen, Flyfish Europe have teamed up with Scientific Anglers to design, craft and engineer a range of fly lines that are carefully attuned to the conditions faced by fly fishermen across the European continent
